Once you have decided on the type of the ceremony that you will have; religious or civil; and your chosen wedding venue is within the municipal borders of Paralimni, the wedding procedure that follows will take place through the Wedding Registry Office of the Municipality of Paralimni. This procedure involves the booking of your wedding date, your application for the wedding as well as the actual celebration of the marriage.
BOOKING OF YOUR WEDDING AND APPLICATION DATES
With the assistance of your wedding planner or of our staff at the wedding registry office you can book your wedding date as well as your application date. Your physical presence at the stage of booking these dates is not necessary. Following your arrival in Cyprus though, you and your partner must visit personally our office with all the required legal documents and make an application for a marriage license.
GETTING HOLD OF ALL THE REQUIRED LEGAL DOCUMENTS
Two or three months, before your wedding date all the necessary documents for the celebration of your marriage must be obtained. Special attention should be given at this stage as the documents in your possession should be both legal and valid in order for the wedding to take place. Information on the legalities is provided in our web-page and our staff at the office is at your disposal for any further assistance you might need.
WEDDING PROCEDURES
There are two different procedures a couple can follow:

Marriage by Notice of Marriage
In this case the wedding can take place (15) days after the application is submitted and not later than (3) months from that date. Therefore this implies that the interested parties will have to stay in Cyprus for at least 15 calendar days.

The Special License
In case the couple wants for a certain reason to get married the soonest possible, they can do so by following the special procedure. This is actually the procedure followed by most of the couples who come to get married in Cyprus. In this case the wedding can take place either on the same day the application is submitted or in less than fifteen (15) calendar days from that date.
Fees: €281.92
The payment of the above fees is in cash or by credit card on the day of your application at Paralimni Townhall. These fees are set by Cyprus government and as such are subject to changes by the government.
THE WEDDING CEREMONY
The actual wedding ceremony is simple with a duration of approximately 15 to 20 minutes and is carried out in English. Guidance is given at all times by our Wedding Officer. At the end of the ceremony the couple receives the original certificate of marriage, signed by them, their two witnesses and the Wedding Officer in charge. A certified copy is forwarded to the Embassy or Consulate in Cyprus of the respected home country/ies of the couple
TRUE COPIES
The Wedding Registry Office of Paralimni Municipality can provide the couple with as many true copies of their marriage certificate as they want.
